Electric Transits Africa (ETA), a Dutch-Kenyan e-mobility company supporting businesses in transitioning to electric transport, has secured a EUR 600,000 loan from Invest International through the Dutch Good Growth Fund (DGGF). The financing will be used to further expand ETA's leasing fleet and accelerate the rollout of a public fast-charging network across East Africa.

Following an initial funding round in May last year, which enabled the deployment of its first vehicles and charging locations, ETA is now serving its first commercial clients. Companies across sectors including tourism, logistics, and security are already operating electric vehicles through ETA's platform. By combining vehicles, charging infrastructure, and long-term financing into an integrated solution, ETA enables clients to reduce operating costs while lowering CO₂ emissions.

ETA is led by a team with experience in both the African mobility sector and international investment. This combination positions the company to scale operations efficiently while structuring and attracting capital in a market where access to financing remains limited.

"Electric mobility in Kenya has moved beyond the pilot phase and is now proving its economic viability. Fuel prices are volatile, urban air quality is under pressure, and Kenya benefits from ample electricity capacity, much of which is renewable."

— Wout van Blommestein, Co-founder, Electric Transits Africa

"This financing allows us to accelerate our growth and build a mobility platform that makes electric transport the standard, while offering attractive returns to investors."

— Dennis Kant, Co-founder, Electric Transits Africa

"ETA is an ambitious Dutch start-up with a clear mission to accelerate the electrification of mobility in Africa. Their solutions contribute to tackling climate change, creating local jobs, and enabling knowledge transfer. This aligns well with our transition theme of sustainable mobility solutions and the Dutch Good Growth Fund through which we invest. ETA has a strong team, a solid group of investors behind it, and has already demonstrated promising traction in Kenya. We are pleased to support the company at this stage as it executes its growth plans."

— Erik Pentinga, Investment Manager, Invest International

With this milestone, ETA strengthens its position as a frontrunner in the electrification of transport in East Africa. The company aims to grow into a leading international player in the coming years, making affordable and reliable electric mobility accessible to organizations across the region. To support this ambition, ETA intends to raise additional funding in the coming months.
